So, last weekend I spent quite a bit of money on the house. I had to buy more tile, which is to be expected. I took the money out of my savings account, which is what it is there for. Today, being payday, I was able to replenish most of it, which makes me happy.
I will once again be tiling my bathroom this weekend. With any luck, I'll get it done and be able to grout next weekend. Fingers crossed.
So, bills. This paycheck I was able to make a lot of payments on my installment bills. Yay!!!!!!! I'm down to under $21k. At least until the bills start coming in again and the interest has to be added. But, still. Yay! And I was able to make my first snowball payment on my Torrid account. So, instead of the $35 minimum payment, I was able to make a $50 payment ($35 + $15 that would have gone to the LOC bill). More of the principle was paid and I'm down to $379.98 owing on that bill.
I'm currently sitting at $934.38 in savings. Not bad. That number will go down a little because I had to rent the tile saw again this weekend. But I do not foresee any other money I will have to pay out between now and my next payday.
I had to make a medical bill payment today for therapy out of my regular checking account because I don't have enough in my HSA account. But, once I get the rest of my Health and Wellness dollars from work, I should be able to submit a receipt and get reimbursed for that payment. Had to do that with my son's glasses.
All in all, I'm feeling confident with this approach to my money. I'm a little worried about my son's graduation party, but I'm slowly buying the things I need for it now. Like the meat for sloppy joes and cases of water. The things I can't buy now are the root beer keg and the donut holes and dollar buns. Barring any major expensive catastrophes, I should be well financed to handle those expenses. Let's pray the car doesn't need anything before then.
That's all for tonight. I need to get started on paperwork and laundry. Busy weekend ahead.
