Friday Payday!

I love payday. I love having money in my account to spend, even if it is on bills. So, as you can see, the debt total has gone down from $21,000. I was able to make payments on credit cards and my unsecured loans today. Plus my first payment (down payment) for the Kirby went through today. I paid all the bills that have an impact on my credit score today. So hopefully that will go up.

Speaking of going up - my savings account has some money in it now! *happy dance*

I also paid my AAA membership today, since that was due.

I've been working on the house a bit and pouring money into that. I'm working on the furnace room right now - putting up real pantry shelves instead of the free-standing shelving unit. I would have finished tonight, but I ran out of brackets. I didn't buy enough. Oh well, I can make a trip tomorrow morning and buy them, then finish up that. I'm hoping to be able to organize that room better. I'd like to put up a few shelves in the area of my tools. We'll see what we can find. The main issue is making sure I have a space for the Kirby and all her accessories. Going to need to put my labeler to work.

I also signed up for a free workshop to learn how to work on bathrooms. Guess which room is next? I have to get the downstairs bathroom done before my son's graduation party. In June. And I'm a procrastinator. But I'm going to watch all the videos and go to the workshops so I do it right. I mean, I know how to put up shelves that stay put. Bathrooms are another story. I'm hoping I learn a lot.

Stock update - stocks will be available on Monday. And I will be selling those puppies. That money will pay for the tile work for the bathroom and maybe a vanity. Although, if I change out the vanity now, I'll probably have to redo the flooring. Joy! Maybe I'll just stick to the tile work for now.

Well, that's all for now. I have some projects to work on tonight still. I have to make some doodle books for some birthday gifts for a party tomorrow.

I need to call it something other than emergency fund, because that's not what it is. I haven't had anything remotely that I would call an emergency, but I keep spending out of it. Oh wow, it's been awhile. So, catch up. I am currently under $21k for debt (yay) and I have $652 in my savings account. I have been using my savings account not as it is meant to be used - Not using it as a savings account per se, but as a supplement to my current checking account. Every penny of my checking account is being used for debt. If I need extras, I'm using my savings account. For example. I got paid on March 20. Every penny of that paycheck was spent for bills or put back into savings. I received $1,132.73. I paid my gas bill ($78.97), Car insurance ($64.88), Internet ($79.95), Kirby ($58.32) and cat food ($29.00). I also deducted the payments for the mortgage ($202.53 - the rest comes from my VA benefit check) and Hulu ($12.87). I put $250 in my grocery account and $25 in my savings account. Good morning and Happy Saturday! These weekends are very important to me. I have learned that I will not be working from home at all. My boss's boss's boss has decided that since we execute and sign documents in front of notaries on our team, and those notaries have to enter activities into our database, we cannot work from home and sign in front of a notary at a bank. Not that we would be able to anyway, with most branches closing the lobbies in this coronavirus pandemic. And I have been very busy executing assignments, so I get to go into the office every day. Not the greatest for my anxiety, but what can I do? At least I have a job and I'm getting a paycheck. Which is more than I can say for a lot of people in this country and worldwide.
