I love seeing my savings account blossom with new money. Today, I sold a stamp set of my mom's and I cashed in money from the Get Upside app. So, a total of $10.61 went into my savings, as well as $.91 from getting gas and a car wash yesterday. And I will have more money tomorrow, because I will be depositing $20.00 from selling an old kitchen table. I was going to use it as a work bench in my garage, but so far it has just been a catchall for junk. So my son and I cleaned it off, I took a picture, and it sold within an hour.
The GetUpside App has positives and negatives. First, it's not only for gas. You can also get cash back for eating out, which of course I'm trying to cut down on. It will send money to a gift card or to your Paypal account, but you have to pay $1.00. Now, they say that if you recruit a couple friends to the app, you don't have to pay for the fees. They get an extra $.15/gallon back the first time they use the app, and you get $.15/gallon. Plus, everytime they use the app, you get $.01/gallon. My referral code, if you are interested, is Jennifer687553. Worth checking out.
The downside - It is only good at certain gas stations. So for me, sometimes it works at Holiday stations, other times Speedway or BP. Just depends on where you are. And you don't get back the same amount every time. Sometimes it is up to $.20/gallon. Other times it is as low at $.10/gallon. You have to choose the gas station you are going to use, and then you have 4 hours to claim the offer, ie upload your receipt. And you have to pay using a credit or debit card, not cash.
For me, making money and squirreling it away is almost like a game. How much can I make today? What can I sell today? I love seeing my savings number go up and my debt total go down. Sometimes I wish the numbers would move faster, but that just means I have to work harder.
I got through all my selling lists last night. That felt good. And I sold something today, so that felt even better. I also listed my bill spreadsheet last night on Etsy. If you'd like to purchase it, the link is https://www.etsy.com/listing/773472569/bill-spreadsheet-financial-organization.
That felt good to get the bill spreadsheet listed. And I'm very proud of it. I've been working the formulas for the past couple years and it just feels ready to release. I will customize the spreadsheet for you based on what you need. You can track various accounts. Mine is built around my checking account, and then I have running totals for my savings account, grocery account, HSA and my debt countdown. I have several tabs and I have to remember to record payments on more than one tab, but it helps me be more organized. I can certainly build a less cumbersome spreadsheet for you and your needs. I'll put a link to the listing on the main page of the blog.
Until later!
